An The Go Food Truck Review

An The Go Garlic Noodles

An The Go is a Vietnamese food truck that goes all around the Bay Area serving their famous garlic noodles during lunch and dinner time. An The Go is actually the owners of Thanh Long. They are usually located at Off the Grid in North Beach during weekdays for lunch. You can find my version of their garlic noodles here if you want to make it at home.

Now onto the review. It’s sad to say this meal wasn’t good. I had high hopes for it since I love Thanh Long so much. I guess you can’t cook garlic noodles in a truck. I ordered the An’s Famous Garlic Noodles with a Lemongrass Beef Skewer. The total came out to a whopping $10! And trust me, the portion they give is definitely not worth the price. The beef skewer that came with my noodles is your typical small beef skewer that I ate in 2 bites. It actually looks a little out of place on top of all the noodles. The beef skewer was very dry and had no flavor. Very tough to chew and after taking a bite, I didn’t even care to finish the rest.

The noodles were very bland. It just reminded me of regular chow mein with some garlic on it. Definitely not the same garlic noodles they make at the restaurant. The bland noodles and the dry skewer meat makes this one of the worst food trucks I have tried. On top of that, it was overpriced. I mean, if the quality of the food was half decent, it would justify the price a little.

I just don’t know how you can go wrong with making garlic noodles. If you follow my recipe of making garlic noodles, it’ll taste the same every time. I just don’t understand how you can mess up on a family recipe that has made you so popular for so many years. If you go on their yelp page, others feel the same way I do.

Nonetheless, if you’re a foodie and have not tried it, give it a try and let me know what you think. I just wouldn’t go out of my way to eat at this food truck any time soon.
