Park Chow has been a very popular restaurant in the Sunset district of San Francisco for a long time. I’ve actually been here quite a few times. It’s a great place for a gathering with friends or special occasions such as birthdays. A lot of the hipsters nowadays rave about this place. One annoying thing about this place is that it’s pretty hard to find parking. Even on the weekdays you might need to park a block or two away.
Now onto the review. This place is good. Not the best but it’s good. Like I said earlier, it’s a good place to hang out with a small or large group of friends. They serve a variety of different types of foods. On the menu they have pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, burgers, salads and soups. They also have a wide variety of wine and beers. They are also known for their breakfast/lunch even though I haven’t gone there for that yet.
I ordered the linguine with clams. I was starving when I ordered it so I devoured the whole plate within 10 minutes. It was pretty good but a little too zesty. The lemon that they put on the linguine was overpowering. The seafood they had in there was very fresh. The clams weren’t fishy and the shrimp and fish were very tender. The linguine was cooked perfectly, al dente. It was a little on the expensive side at $14.50 but it’s something I would definitely get again.
My wife got one of their famous dish, Fusilli with Chicken and Sausage. This pasta dish was also pretty tasty. Their sausage was very flavorful. You can taste the herbs they add in the sausage. It’s definitely homemade sausage rather than packaged. It came with a tomato sauce that went nicely with the chicken and sausage. She got medium instead of entree and that wasn’t enough. I suggest everyone get the entree if they are hungry.
Overall, I would rate this place a 8/10 for the ambiance and the food. There wasn’t anything bad about the place. The waiters were super nice, the environment was very homey and the food was good. If you ever plan on having a dinner party, I suggest coming here. It has something everyone will want to eat on their menu and it’s just a very friendly environment that everyone can enjoy.
